Hargo (aka HAR) was founded in 1955 by the husband-and-wife-team of Joseph Heilbronner and Edith Levitt. Based in New York, the company produced jewelry from 1955 to 1968. Hargo was well known for ornate, fantastical, and exotic designs, often featuring Asian, Middle Eastern, and mythical themes.
Due to their unique designs, high quality, and limited production run, Hargo pieces are very sought after by vintage costume jewelry collectors.
